In the late fall after tourist season, Alaskaland closes up for the long winter. Locals still stroll through the park taking in the last vestiges of summer.  Looking at the closed sign brought a sense of finality to this scene and I thought of what could have been. The little girl evidently couldn't believe it either as her Grandpa patiently waits for her to end her daydream.  The original of this painting now hangs in my 9 year old, ice cream loving, Grand daughter's bedroom.
